The End of an Era

Today is the day!

For twenty one years we have been parents to one or more teenagers. Luke turned thirteen in 1992, and today Daniel turns twenty.

Goodbye teen-age years.

Being a mother to teen-agers has been challenging, interesting, humbling, fun and intense. It kept my calendar full and me wide awake in the middle of the night for a dozen different reasons.

Our children, along with being fun, energetic, imaginative and intelligent, could be lazy, irritable, or smart-mouthed. Their mother could also be lazy, irritable and smart-mouthed. I think we all learned a lot and I did some growing up, too.

Today I celebrate those twenty one years. Thank you, Jesus!  It was a gift.

  1. And I remember when there were no children and no husband (just a fiancee) and now child #6 turns 20! I must be getting old!! Wow! Happy birthday, Daniel!

  2. Amen, Jan! Now we as moms of our “20 & 30 Somethings” have more to learn and trust our Heavenly Father for. ❤️
